Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect only what you type into our forms, use it only to help you, store it safely, and never sell it.

1. Who we are

Vidyarthi AI is an independent, free student resource. We are not a government body, board, university or coaching institute. This policy explains what personal data we handle and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

2. What we collect, and only when you choose to share it

Student SOS form: your question, an email or phone number, your university (optional) and your name (optional).
“Get notified” form: an email or phone number, the stage you picked and what you want to hear about.
Feedback form: your message, the page you were on, and an email or phone only if you add one.

You can use every other part of the site without giving us any personal data. We do not ask for passwords, Aadhaar, bank or payment details, and we never will.

3. Why we use it

Only to answer your question, send the updates you asked for, or fix the problem you reported. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you.

4. Where it is stored and how it is protected

Form submissions are stored in Netlify Forms, the service that hosts this website. Data travels over encrypted HTTPS. Only the Vidyarthi AI team can see submissions, through a password-protected Netlify account.

Your browser also keeps a few things locally (for example your saved papers, practice answers and chosen stage). These stay on your device and are never sent to us; clearing your browser data removes them.

5. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it with no one except Netlify (to store it) or where Indian law requires us to.

6. How long we keep it

SOS questions and feedback are deleted within 12 months of our reply. “Get notified” contacts are kept until that stage launches or you ask us to remove you, whichever is sooner.

7. Students under 18

Many of our users are school students. If you are under 18, please use our forms with a parent or guardian's knowledge. We collect only the minimum needed to reply, never use it for tracking or advertising, and a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it at any time.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent. Use the “Report a broken link / Feedback” button at the bottom of any page, choose “Other”, and write “Data request” with the email or phone you used. We will act within 30 days.

9. Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Embedded YouTube videos use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player and load only when you tap play.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
