Industry & incubation

  • Most affiliated colleges are in or near Bengaluru, India's largest IT and electronics hub
  • Colleges run their own placement cells; there is no single VTU-wide placement figure
  • Regulations allow SWAYAM/NPTEL and other approved online courses for credit, including Honours and Minor degrees
  • Autonomous colleges set their own curriculum and run their own placements and exams

Good to know

  • Grades O(10) to P(4), F fails. Percentage = CGPA x 10 (BE/BTech Regulations 2022, clause 22OB 6.7)
  • 2022 regulations framed with NEP-2020 in mind: Honours/Minor via 18 extra online credits, and credits kept if you re-join within 3 years of exit
  • Carry-over: you need F grades under 16 credits in 1st year to reach 3rd sem, and all 1st-year courses passed to enter 7th sem. Pass = 40% overall, 35% in SEE
